Eugene A. Nigro, Esq.

Attorney Eugene A. Nigro is a lecturer for a MCLE program, Court-Certified Conciliator Training, on November 11, 2011 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the MCLE Conference Center, 10 Winter Place, via Winter Street, Boston, MA.

The First District Eastern Middlesex Bar Association awarded Attorney Eugene A. Nigro the 1st Annual Robert F. Lucas Award in recognition of is commitment to the legal system, devotion to community service, loyalty to his colleagues and compassion and respect for all.

In June of 2009, the Essex County Bar Association recognized Attorney Eugene A. Nigro, of the law firm of Nigro, Pettepit & Lucas, LLP of Wakefield and Newburyport, Massachusetts, for his pro-bono conciliation work on behalf of clients throughout Essex County.  Attorney Nigro received the Pro Bono Justicia Award from Attorney Donald R. Bumiller, President of the Essex County Bar Association during the organization's Annual Dinner.  This is the first time the unique award has been presented by the Association.

Attorney Nigro has been providing conciliation services since the mid-1980s to individuals and others requiring legal mediation.  As a result of his efforts, the Essex County Bar Association now offers a conciliation-training program for the other practicing attorneys, with Attorney Nigro serving as the lead trainer.  The Massachusetts Bar Association is also instituting the program.

Attorney Janice C. Nigro, co-chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC) committee, will be a lecturer at a seminar MUPC Part II — The Ins and Outs of Formal Probate Proceedings  being held at the Massachusetts Bar Association headquarters  at 20 West St., Boston on November 15, 2011 from 12pm to 4pm.

Attorney Janice C. Nigro, co-chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC) committee, will be a lecturer at a seminar MUPC Part III — Powers and Duties of the Personal Representatives and Options for Closing Estates  being held at the Massachusetts Bar Association headquarters  at 20 West St., Boston on December 13, 2011 from 12pm to 4pm.

Attorney Janice C. Nigro, co-chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC) committee, will be a lecturer at a seminar MUPC Part IV — Remedies and Protections under the MUPC  being held at the Massachusetts Bar Association headquarters  at 20 West St., Boston on January 15, 2012  from 12pm to 4pm.

Attorney Janice C. Nigro, co-chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC) committee, will be a lecturer at a seminar MUPC Part V — Estate Planning under the MUPC Drafting Wills and Trusts  being held at the Massachusetts Bar Association headquarters  at 20 West St., Boston on February 2, 2012  from 12pm to 4pm.

Stephen D. Fried, Esq.

Attorney Stephen D. Fried is a lecturer and Chair for a seminar on Evidentiary Issues in Family Court Practice & Procedure which will be held on October 4, 2011 from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the MCLE Conference Center, 10 Winter Place, via Winter St., Boston, MA.

The Alimony Lecture scheduled for February 10th was postponed due to the weather.  The new date is May 17, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Marriott Burlington, One Burlington Mall Road, Burlington, MA.  Issues to be addressed are:

  1. Analysis of the relationship between the alimony statute and alimony;
  2. Tax-related issues;
  3. Analysis of need versus ability to pay;
  4. Review of factors which the court considers when issuing an alimony award;
  5. The balance between alimony and child support;
  6. Review of recent argument concerning the allocation of alimony; and
  7. A discussion of new trends, theories and innovative strategies.

Boston Magazine selected Attorney Stephen D. Fried as a New England Super Lawyer for 2008.

Stephen D. Fried, Esq. will be co-chairing and MCLE program entitled “Advocating & Drafting Under the New Alimony Reform Legislation” at the Springhill Suites (U.S. Route 1 North), 43 Newbury St., Peabody on January 18, 2012 at 2:00pm.
